Designing Custom Stage Configurations

While standard rectangular stages fit basic band configurations, complex event venues often require custom geometric builds including catwalks, T-stages, choral risers, and step systems.

  • Triangular Decks: Standard staging systems support right-angled triangular decks (usually 2.0m x 1.0m or 8'x4') and equilateral decks to construct diagonals, arrow-front designs, and circular stage layouts.
  • Step & Stairs Access: Connecting steps to the platform is critical. Standard treads are 1.0m wide with descending elevations of 75%, 50%, and 25% of the total stage height.
  • Drag-and-Drop Workflow: Our CAD designer allows you to plan custom deck placement, rotate decks for unique angular layouts, and configure modular handrail attachments dynamically.

How do I secure custom-shaped stages?
Custom-shaped stages are secured using double leg clamps and dex clamp connectors along the perimeter. When placing decks at different angles, ensure the underlying leg structures are braced with horizontal tubes and double-swivel couplers for lateral stability.
Can I mix different stage deck shapes?
Yes. Modular systems (like StageDex and LiteDeck) are built grid-wise, allowing you to interface square, rectangular, and triangular modules side-by-side. Our custom designer checks for geometric alignment and adds connectors automatically.
How is the total stage weight calculated?
The total staging platform weight is the sum of the individual dry deck weights (StageDex averages 35kg/deck; LiteDeck averages 32kg/deck) plus the legs, braces, stair systems, and guardrails. Our builder dynamically calculates this to aid event transport logistics.
